Hemingway Home


The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum is located at 907 Whitehead Street and nestled in the heart of Old Town Key West, this unique property was home to one of America's most honored and respected authors. Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote here for more than ten years. Calling Key West home, he found solace and great physical challenge in the turquoise. Step back in time and visit the rooms and gardens that witnessed the most prolific period of this Nobel Prize winner's writing career. Educated tour guides give insightful narratives and are eager to answer questions. Flagler Station


Henry Flagler's legacy at the Flagler Station Over-Sea Railway Museum, where you can w alk through an actual Florida East Coast Railroad car full of photographs and memorabilia from the Railroad That "Went To Sea." Learn how this engineering marvel was built. See the original film, "The Day the Train Arrived." Detailing one of the biggest celebrations in Florida's history given to honor Flagler upon his arrival on the first train January 22, 1912. Staged in the historic Maggie Atwell House, the oldest house relocated from Big Pine Key, experience the thrill of riding the Florida Keys in 1929 aboard the railway. Hear the eye witness accounts from some of those who were there in 1912 and who made the fascinating trip by rail on the Key West Extension.

 

Key West Aquarium


The Key West Aquarium  A Window of Wonder comes alive as expert guides explain the mysteries of the water surrounding the Florida Keys. Daily shark and turtle feedings and the Touch Tank offer guests hands on experience with the sea life of the surrounding waters. The Aquarium features a wide variety of fish including grouper, moray eels, barracuda, tropical fish, tarpon, parrotfish and much, much more.

East Martello


The East Martello Museum and Gallery. Designed after the nearly impregnable coastal Martello watchtowers in Italy, the East Martello fort was never completed and never saw hostile action. Its outer bulwark and inner citadel with eight-foot thick granite walls built during the Civil War era were a monument to military engineering and could have withstood any amount of bombardment at the time.  Adults $6  Children and Students $3  Seniors $4

 

Heritage House


Heritage House Museum and Robert Frost Cottage  Experience true island hospitality during a visit to this splendid Caribbean Colonial House. Original furnishings, rare antiques, and unusual sea faring artifacts are among the treasures collected by seven generations of a notable Key West family. The leisurely tour ends in a romantic flowering garden where the Robert Frost cottage is located and recordings of his poetry can be heard.  Tickets $15

 

Lighthouse


Built in 1847 to aid to ships navigating dangerous reefs off the lower Keys, the Key West Lighthouse now stands sentinel over one of Florida's finest historical sites. The tower was originally 46 feet high and powered by 15 oil lamps with 15-inch reflectors, but was extended to 86 feet in 1894. Inside visitors now climb 88 iron steps to the observation deck that affords spectacular views.  Adults $8  Children and Students $4  Seniors $6

 

Southernmost House


The Southernmost House in the United States. Built in 1896 by Judge Vining Harris and presently owned by the Ramos family, this historic building has entertained U.S. Presidents and Kings and is one of the most popular event settings on the island. The house has been a private residence for only two owners since 1896 and is Now open to the public for the first time in 50 years. Admission includes, historic tour of mansion, use of the grounds pool and a beverage of choice form the pool side bar.  Adults $8

 

Truman House


While President, Truman spent 175 days in Key West at Quarters A on the Truman Naval Station. Today, as Florida's only presidential museum, the Little White House provides a personal glimpse of one of America's greatest presidents. Truman was recently ranked 5th in importance of all American presidents by a C-Span poll of 58 presidential scholars.
